This is proof that outstanding athletes don’t have to look chiseled or even staggeringly fit. It’s not about how you look. Performance is measured differently by many, and what matters most is how well you perform relative to the metrics that matter.

Who chooses the metrics? Well, that depends on a few different things, but typically your company, your boss, your coworkers, and ultimately you. You choose what you let define you.

He could let his body be his defining attribute. He doesn’t need to. He’s doing his best with his gifts.

Maybe we could all do that a little more and worry less about what we’ve been tricked into thinking is wrong with us.

We all have weaknesses. Perfection is an illusion. It will crush your dreams, confidence, and soul. Don’t let how you compare to others or “perfection” steal your light. Because it will. It will rob you of joy, the ability to grow, and even change your mind.

Perfectionism is a trap.

But what you can do is let your strengths define you.
Let what you’re amazing at be your contribution to the world. Change the world by being you. Sure, work on yourself. Improve where it matters.
Value yourself and who you are. And then grow. Become your best self.

You have to agree to the metrics. Be so confident that you are okay with – at least a little bit okay with – being a champion who isn’t obsessed with perfection, especially with something that isn’t even holding you back in the first place.

Don’t be afraid to try.

We’re all only human.

Perfection is an illusion.
